- | is a one-player game of Battleship for
- | Windows. You and the computer alternate
- | turns bombing locations around the grid,

- | grid with cities, forests, and mountains.
- | The object of the game is to build up your
- | forces, and capture cities until you are
- | strong enough to attack the computer player.

- | medieval times. The map is defferent for
- | each game and can be any size from 20 x 20
- | up to 150 x 150. Up to six human or computer
- | players can participate. There are 14
- | different playing pieces including light
- | infantry, catapults, light galleons, and
- | more. Other features include play-by-mail
- | games, handicapping with 24 strength levels,
- | and extensive on-line help.

- | War II combat simulation. Several scenarios
- | are provided that allow you to command units
- | of varying types and capabilities. This game
- | is best played between two machines using a
- | communications link, but it can be played on
- | a single computer. Average game time is 3
- | hours.

- | allows for a wide variety of strategies, and
- | each game lasts from 15 to 30 minutes.

- | a game where you must try to capture more
- | territory than your opponent. You can play
- | against computer-controlled players or a
- | friend connected via modem/comm
- | port/network. Computer players can be
- | "trained" using artificial intelligence
- | techniques, and the history of each player
- | is saved for future reference.
- STLEMP10.ZIP 188705 09-06-93 Stellar Empires 1.0 (Tahuya Bay Software;
- | $18) is a fast paced game of galactic
- | conquest. A player begins an empire with a
- | single star. Stars are added through
- | colonization and annexation of stars held by
- | other empires. The game is complete when
- | there is only one empire left. The number of
- | stars may vary from 50 to 1500 for short,
- | medium or long games, and have from 2 to 12
- | players.

- | move-and-capture board game you play against
- | the computer.

- | contains a Battleship game set in outer
- | space, a variation of peg solitaire,

- | game of logic similar to "pen-the-pig" or
- | "squares". The object of the game is to
- | build more boxes on the game grid than your
- | opponent. When a complete box is made, the

- | picture which lies under the playing board.

- | picture becomes visible and a brief
- | description of the picture appears. This
- | game features beautiful 256-color pictures
- | and high quality digitized sound clips. You
- | can also add your own pictures, sounds, and

- | game you can play against the computer or a
- | human opponent. The object is to take more
- | of the board than your opponent. When you
- | replicate a piece on another square, any
- | opposing men on adjoining squares change to
- | your side.
- CFD132.ZIP 60621 02-08-94 Confound 1.32 (Koziar, Pete; $15) is an
- | excellent board/strategy game for Windows.
- | You and the computer alternate turns trying
- | to move your marble into your opponents's
- | home square. Each turn consists of either
- | moving your marble or placing a wall to
- | block the other player. There are three
- | difficulty levels, and even in the easy mode
- | the computer is no slacker. To help speed
- | play along, the cursor changes to help you
- | place pieces.
- DOTS.ZIP 11387 11-16-93 Dots 1.0 (Chad A. Olson, reg. fee: $5) is a
- | simple strategy game you play against the
- | computer. You must select from 1 to 3 dots
- | in a line each turn, and the player to
- | capture the last dot wins.

- | unusual strategy game played with an egg
- | carton and marbles. The object of this
- | two-player game is to be the first to clear

- | strategy game for Windows. You must maneuver
- | your King Kong around the maze-like city to
- | try to capture your opponent. Each player's
- | turn consists of giving his Kong directions
- | (North, South, East, or West) and the number
- | of steps to take in that direction. Your
- | turn is ended if you run into a building or
- | fail to reach your opponent's location.
- SKULLS.ZIP 54219 11-18-93 Amazon Skulls 1.0 (TOGGLE BOOLEANS, reg.
- | fee: $0) is an unusual strategy game for
- | Windows. You take turns with the computer
- | placing skulls on the playing grid, making
- | sure that the skull being placed touches the
- | last skull played but no others. Three
- | different skill levels are available, and
- | the playing grid ranges from 5x6 to the "Pit
- | of Death". If the rather gruesome skulls are
- | not to your liking, you can change them to
- | happy faces.
- TRIPLET.ZIP 16421 06-09-94 Triplets 2.0 (Dean, Hal and Gamma; $0) is a
- | skill game in which you alternate turns,
- | trying to get three tokens in a row on a
- | playing grid. You can have up to four
- | players in any combination of Humanoid, Dumb
- | Robot, Smart Android, or Genius Cyborg. The
- | grid can be three different sizes from 9x9
- | to 39x24. This is an interesting game, and
- | the Genius Cyborg is tough to beat!
- VIERPP1.ZIP 67939 01-07-94 Vier Gewinnt (Four Wins) for Windows 1.0 is
- | a Windows version of a game known as Connect

- WNDOMINO.ZIP 209815 05-05-92 WNDomino (Thompson, Bill J.; $10) is a game
- | of Double-Six dominoes for Windows. Unlike
- | the DOS-based dominoes game (DOMINO), this
- | game only lets you see the last domino
- | played in each direction. This makes it more
- | difficult to visualize what has been played,
- | although a chart on the side shows that
- | info. The game seems to be a little flakey.
- | Despite the "flaws", this is a fun game of
- | dominoes for those who insist on running
- | only Windows apps; the rest of you should
- | get the DOS based game. VBRUN is required.
- XANDO.ZIP 11406 01-07-94 X's and O's 1.2 lets you play a simple game
- | of Tic Tac Toe against the computer. (David
